Ignoring first breast check invitation hikes risk of dying from cancer by 40%

WOMEN who miss their first breast screening appointment have a 40% higher risk of dying from cancer.
Researchers, including experts from Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, looked at data for nearly 500,000 women in the country who received their first screening invitation from 1991 to 2020.
They discovered 32% did not attend their first mammogram.
