Tuchel claims Henderson will help bring everyone together

THOMAS TUCHEL wants to create a “brotherhood” in the England dressing room and has put Jordan Henderson at the heart of his plans.

The Ajax midfielder, 34, was the shock inclusion in the German’s first squad with the former Liverpool captain admitting he thought his England career was over.

Tuchel had an original list of 55 names that he whittled down to 26 for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia, and few fans would have chosen Henderson.

He last played for his country in November 2023, missed out on last summer's Euros and has had mixed fortunes since moving to Holland following a failed move to Saudi Arabia.

But Tuchel says he is in the squad on merit as a player and as a leader in the dressing room, with the head coach talking about trying to bring a club atmosphere to international duty.
