But Storm Bram brings flood risk

- BY CHRIS RICHES

Hotter than California

BRITAIN will be hotter than Athens, California, Istanbul and Rome this week as December temperatures hit 16C in some areas, despite Storm Bram’s battering.

It comes as the UK will be hit with up to four inches of rain and 90mph gusts over the next few days.

Western parts will be worst affected, with Met Office amber and yellow warnings for wind and rain in place until tomorrow.

Flooding could affect homes and properties in at-risk areas and there are 75 flood alerts and 13 warnings active across England and Wales.
