Climbdown on 'banter' after Yorks rescue bid
COLIN GRAVES has made a fulsome apology for referring to racist language as “banter”.
Coincidentally, Graves’ new outlook on the subject comes just hours after the Yorkshire County Cricket Club Board voted unanimously to back his offer to save the club.
The consortium will inject £1million immediately, with a further £4m to come, if members agree to the terms of his return at a meeting on February 2.
And with Graves having now changed his mind on his view of the systemic use of discriminatory language at the club where he was chair between 2012 and 2015, the membership may welcome him back.
