Girlfriend's terror after Old Etonian tried to drown her

THE traumatised girlfriend of an Old Etonian who beat her repeatedly and plotted to kill her by hurling her into a well yesterday told a court she will never feel safe if he is freed.
Douglas Clifton Brown is facing jail after he was found guilty of attempted murder for launching an attack on Camilla Welby after drinks with friends.
He hit her over and over again as he drove her to High House Estate, near King's Lynn, Norfolk, where he had filled the well with water as he prepared to drown her.
