Farmers in banner dig at Reed on tax change

FARMING secretary Steve Reed was faced with a banner demo by furious farmers as he apologised for imposing death taxes on them.

Campaigners unfurled banners in front of him as he outlined reforms, which included plans to focus on food production and make the industry more resilient to disruption.

Mr Reed told the National Farmers Union conference the Government had been forced to make the tax decision due to the "black hole" in the public finances left by the Tories.
