Fare dodger jailed after being fined more than £7,000

A TRAIN fare dodger who racked up more than £7,000 in fines has been jailed after repeatedly giving ticket inspectors the name of an old school friend instead of his own.
James Francis Kelly, 31, was caught without a ticket 26 times over three years, but brazenly gave the name of his former pal.
Police said the unwitting friend "only became aware of the scam when a collection letter was sent to him demanding payment".
Kelly, of Wallasey on the Wirral, Merseyside, was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court for 10 months after admitting committing acts to pervert the course of justice.
