Ethel becomes first Brit to reach 116

THE world’s oldest person has celebrated her 116th birthday “quietly with family” at her care home in Surrey.
Ethel Caterham, /eft — the last surviving subject of Edward VII, who died in May 1910 - reached the landmark age yesterday.
She became the oldest living person in April after Brazilian nun Sister Inah Canbarro Lucas died aged 116. Ethel is also the first Briton to reach that age.
