The winless Magpies face Daniel Farke’s side knowing they face a cauldron of hostility, with head coach Howe ready to turn to leaders such as Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier to deliver a result.

After attempts to persuade Alexander Isak to stay at St James’ Park failed miserably this week, following high-level talks with Newcastle’s Saudi owners and the sulking striker, Howe expects his players to be galvanised by the situation.
