ENGLAND'S chief medical officer has suggested people were forced to spend too much time indoors during the pandemic, which harmed children.

Sir Chris Whitty told the Covid public inquiry there should have been a “more liberal” approach to the amount of time allowed outside.

Just weeks into the first lockdown, which began in March 2020, top scientists discussed evidence that being outdoors was safer than being indoors.
