Couples delay divorce due to money worries

ONE in six divorces in the past five years were delayed owing to money worries, a survey has found.

Separations stalled because of income concerns, rising living costs and the bill for the split itself.

The findings were released to mark "divorce day" today when law firms are expecting to see a spike in inquiries following the Christmas period.

Among 3,000 recent divorcees quizzed, 41% felt they did not have an equal split financially, with one party being favoured.
