Comedic talent with a sharp wit

BEST known for her role as Moira Rose in the award-winning TV series Schitt’s Creek, Catherine O'Hara was a film, television, stage, voice actress, writer and comedian.

She appeared in movies such as After Hours, Beetlejuice, Home Alone and The Nightmare Before Christmas. She won two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, and two Actor Awards after turning ina series of unforgettable performances, netting her much critical acclaim, she had other nominations pending when she died.

Fellow Canadian actor and comedian Mike Myers — of Austin Powers fame — described her death as “a very sad day for comedy and for Canada”.
