City folk 'feel cut off from nature'

A FIFTH of city dwellers feel out of touch with nature and cannot remember the last time they saw a farm animal.

Nearly half admit the only time they venture outdoors is to walk to a shop — with just 22% doing so for exercise.

And almost two-thirds have to travel an average of two miles to reach a park, found the study of 500 urban adults and 500 in rural areas.
