Bullied Mia's father blasts school 'failure'

THE father of a schoolgirl who killed herself after being bullied by a group of boys has pleaded for tougher curbs to protect youngsters.

Mariano Janin attacked the "failure" of those who should have kept daughter Mia, 14, safe, after an inquest into her death ended yesterday.

Mia, below, was found hanged at her home in Harrow, North West London, at 6.50am on March 12, 2021, hours after saying goodnight to Mr Janin and his wife Marisa who has since died of cancer.

Two letters on her bed addressed to her "loving family and friends" explained that Mia decided to end her life, North London area coroner Tony Murphy said.

Mr Murphy told Barnet Coroner's Court Mia "took her life while still a child and while still in the process of maturing into adulthood".
