Hunt for killer after victim suffered 'ferocious violence'

POLICE are hunting the killer of a British woman stabbed to death in a frenzied attack in the Dordogne.

The body of married mother-of-four Karen Carter, 65, was found outside a property she owned and rented out in Tremolat, east of Bordeaux.

An investigating source said Karen had suffered a “frenzied attack” on Tuesday, following a night out at a local café-bar with a male friend.

The source added: “A man called the emergency services after finding her covered in stab wounds.

“Five deep injuries pointed to ferocious violence and a desire to kill. The victim was found near her car.”

Medics arrived following a phone call from an unidentified man, but Karen died at the scene, despite attempts to revive her.
