Borders boss candidate "can't work from Finland'

THE candidate favourite to become Britain's new borders chief has been told he should work mostly in the UK after it was revealed he lives and commutes from Finland.

Questions were raised about the working arrangements for John Tuckett, currently an immigration services commissioner, after he told MPs he has a family home in Finland and travels to the UK for work when he needs to.
The Home Affairs Select Committee spoke of concerns over "reputational risk" and pressed for the majority of his work to be done in Britain.
