Dewsbury-Hall's corner rethink tastes so sweet for the Toffees

KIERNAN DEWSBURY-HALL admits Everton's winner came from his late change of heart - as he revealed that manager David Moyes sounded him out over the loan signing of Tyrique George from Chelsea.

The Blues came from behind to triumph at Craven Cottage, with Dewsbury-Hall equalising in the 75th minute, before curling in the corner that prompted home goalkeeper Bernd Leno to punch the ball into his own net on 83 minutes (inset).

The midfielder said: “I was going to go short [with the corner] because they only had one man out and it was me and Ili [Ndiaye]. So, I thought, ‘We've got a chance here to create something.

“I don't know why, but at the last minute I just saw it and I thought, ‘Let me stick it on the keeper’ We know they can be vulnerable from set pieces and luckily it went in.

“I've heard it’s been given an own goal, but it would be nice if they turned it around and gave it to me.”
