'Atrocious' so many people lack mental health support

MILLIONS of Britons are affected by a "silent mental health pandemic", a top psychiatrist warns.
Dr Lade Smith, president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, said it was atrocious that so many people go without support until they reach a state of crisis.
Some 4.1 million patients were in contact with mental health services in England in 2024/25, up 56% from eight years ago.
