'Arrogant' developers have stolen my beautiful sea view

DEVELOPERS have been accused of “pure arrogance” after an allegedly unauthorised wall blocked a homeowner's sea view.

Liz Bates previously used to enjoy an interrupted panorama of Poole Bay from the balcony of her first-floor flat set in the affluent Southbourne area of Bournemouth.

But it was hidden when a 20ft by 8ft “privacy wall” was added to a terrace on luxury flats being built between her home and the sea.

Mrs Bates claims that the barrier does not have planning permission and says she feels “boxed in”.

The mum-of-two and property inspector said she is so disheartened by work on the four apartment blocks that she looked into selling her home of 10 years. But estate agents warned her it may not be feasible as the development has devalued her property.

Mrs Bates, 42, said: “About two months ago, brackets went up in front of our house. I asked the builders what they were for and they said it was for a terrace wall.
