Allies send hundreds of missiles

BRITAIN and its allies are to send a "vital" raft of air defence systems to Ukraine, it was revealed yesterday

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace met his Nato counterparts at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels, where the new package of help was confirmed.

Hundreds of short and medium range air defence systems will be supplied.

Officials said delivery of the equipment has already begun and is expected to be completed within weeks.

The package consists largely of Soviet-era missiles, supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine's most pressing needs for equipment to support its operations.
