Norrie poised to take on Fearnley

CAM NORRIE will face Jacob Fearnley in a Battle of Britain in the French Open third round tomorrow.

It will be the first time in the Open era that two Britons have met after the first round here.

And the country is sure to have a man in the second week in Paris for the first time since Andy Murray in 2017.

Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Norrie backed up his win against Daniil Medvedev by beating Argentine lucky loser Federico Gomez 7-6 6-2 6-1.

Fearnley, who reached the Australian Open last 32 on his overseas Grand Slam event debut, repeated the feat when No.22 seed Ugo Humbert retired in the second set after a fall.
