SANDBACH Rugby Club was a hive of celebration this past weekend as it hosted its annual end-of-season awards for the Mini and Junior sections.

Youngsters celebrate 'Bach achievements

Over three days, the club welcomed nearly 1,000 players, parents, and supporters to mark the achievements of teams ranging from the Under-6s to the Under-18s, closing out the 2024/2025 season in style.

The festivities kicked off on Friday evening with the “transition” age groups, Under-16s, Under-17s, and Under-18s, gathering to celebrate their seasons and look ahead to the next chapter in their rugby journeys.

A highlight of the evening was a heartfelt tribute to “Daddy Mitch,” (Director Andy Mitchell) whose dedication and guidance have been instrumental in the development of the Senior Colts.

As the U18s finish their season, attention now turns to the rising U16s and U17s who will form the new Colts squads.

Saturday was dedicated to the Junior teams, with special guest Henry Mitchell, first-team player and coach, delivering an inspiring welcome address.

Speeches from team captains added a personal and heartfelt touch, offering insights from the players themselves.
