Resurgent Greenbacks turn the tables on league leaders
Coventry Telegraph
|February 23, 2026
BEDWORTH United's incredible form this year hit new heights on Saturday as they beat NPL Midland leaders Carlton United 2-1.
It means the Greenbacks, odds on for relegation at the start of the year, are now three points clear of the drop.
Since the turn of the year, they have lost once in eight games and have dropped just two points in their last five to give their survival hopes a huge boost.
They were helped at the weekend by Carlton having Lewis Durow sent off after just ten minutes and fell behind early in the second half to a Nathan Watson goal.
But substitute Matty Shipman levelled on 70 minutes before Elliot Parrott snatched the winner three minutes later.
