Police, banks and tech firms uniting in fighting fraud

The Home Office said it will bring together specialists to stop overseas scammers and protect the public when it launches its new Online Crime Centre next month.

It forms part of the Government's new fraud strategy that ministers hope will allow companies to easily share intelligence on scammers with the police.

Fraud is a major issue in the UK, costing the economy over £14 billion a year - with one in 14 adults and one in four businesses said to be a victim.
