Plans to create conservation centre at zoo

TWYCROSS Zoo has announced that it will create a global conservation centre due to an £18million investment from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

The state-of-the-art facility will help fight against global extinction and advance global conservation solutions.

The £25million Global Conservation Centre will be a hub for scientific research and education programmes and a space to inspire, train, and facilitate the next generation of conservation leaders. In addition to the centre, the zoo will create a brand new Indonesian-themed land that will link with the conservation campus.

The land will include a Bornean orangutan habitat, plus new habitats for other Indonesian species that the zoo will care for as part of its work.
