IT’S a great time to be a Coventry City fan after a 12-game unbeaten start to the new Championship — season, including six wins on the spin heading into Friday night's test at Wrexham.

- By ANDY TURNER Sky Blues Reporter

The Red Dragons, who sit in 16th place in the table, had to navigate a huge Carabao Cup tie against Welsh rivals Cardiff City at the Racecourse Ground last night.

Phil Parkinson’s men have four former Sky Blues in their ranks in centre-backs Dom Hyam and Callum Doyle - the latter of whom will be serving the third of a three-match ban for a red card on Friday - and midfielders Matty James and Ben Sheaf. Former skipper Sheaf sat out the weekend's draw at Middlesbrough and the previous match with injury and remains a doubt.

Ban kicks in

One player who Frank Lampard will be without on Friday evening is Milan van Ewijk who will be serving a one-match ban for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Watford at the weekend.
