Detailed plan for 'flagship' library in town centre

DETAILED plans have emerged for the new 'flagship' library and business centre in Nuneaton town centre.

The major £24.4million 'Justice Walk' development in the Church Street and Vicarage Street area has already been given outline planning permission.

But this came with conditions and now a new 'reserved matters' application has been submitted which gives details on key parts of the huge project. Justice Walk will eventually bring a new library, office space and housing to the Church Street and Vicarage Street area.

Demolition has already started on the former tax office, Wilko and sorting office on Church Street, where the new library and business centre will be located.

The town's main library will also be eventually razed to the ground and replaced by housing.

But the old library will be the last building to be demolished. The new application seeks permission for the new library and business centre element of the regeneration project.
