AUTUMN HAS SO MUCH TO ENJOY WITH ITS VIVID COLOURS AND SURPRISES

Alongside them, autumn crocus, delicate goblets of mauve or lilac rising from bare earth, provide a moment of sheer magic. To see them flowering bravely while leaves fall all around is to appreciate the resilience of nature.

And then, of course, there is the foliage. For me, autumn trees are nature’s fireworks. Maples ignite into crimson, amber and orange while the stately liquidambar glows with deep burgundy tones. Even humble birches shimmer in lemon-yellow finery.

These displays can stop you in your tracks. Stand beneath a canopy of turning leaves on a crisp morning and the world feels charged with colour.
