A 'standout' keeper who is staying put

FRANK Lampard has spoken about Carl Rushworth’s ‘standout’ impact at Coventry City and confirmed that the on-loan star is going nowhere this January.

The Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper joined the Sky Blues on a season-long loan in the summer and the City boss has confirmed that there is no recall option for the Premier League club at the midterm point of the campaign, ensuring the 24-year-old will continue to be at the CBS Arena until May.

Asked by BBC CWR whether the club would be keen to add Rushworth on a permanent deal in the summer, Lampard said: “That's too far away to talk about that because he's not our player, as such. But him coming in has been a massive plus for us.
