Homework programme helps Westlake pupils

In response to growing academic struggles among young pupils in Westlake, the Siseko Jokazi Foundation launched the Homework Assist Programme — an after-school initiative offering structured academic support in core subjects like maths, English and Afrikaans.
The foundation, a youth social development non-profit based in Westlake, was founded last year by 20-year-old Siseko Jokazi to address the challenges facing vulnerable youth in the community and beyond.
"Our goal is to empower young people to reach their full potential and to partner with organisations that share our vision for a brighter future," says Mr Jokazi, a former junior councillor and child government monitor, currently studying teaching at the Centre for Creative Education.
