Mayor Dennis Khasudi, alongside Municipal Manager Sipho Thomas and MMC for LED, Tourism, and Infrastructure Nick Muller, is driving transformative projects in the Mafube Local Municipality. From boreholes in Tweeling to cemetery fencing in Frankfort, these initiatives are not just about infrastructure—they're about restoring dignity and rebuilding trust.

A Call to Action: Supporting Mafube's Recovery

Mafube Local Municipality, encompassing towns like Frankfort, Villiers, and Tweeling, has faced severe financial constraints, including account attachments and low revenue collection. "Mafub faces a significant financial crisis where they are not even able to collect on revenue," Khasudi explained. This crisis left service providers hesitant and staff demotivated, stalling essential projects. Fezile Dabi stepped in to fulfill its legislative mandate under the Municipal Structures Act, which empowers district municipalities to support struggling local municipalities. "As part of our legislative role as a district municipality, it is our mandate to assist municipality in cases like that," Khasudi said. By taking over Mafube's Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) projects, Fezile Dabi ensured that funds stayed in the community, preventing their reallocation to other regions.
