CASTINE—Safe Harbor, Julia Cooper’s popular take-out restaurant on Castine’s town dock, will be opening for its third season again this spring.
“Our lease from the town runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day,” Cooper said, “but if I can open earlier, I will, at least by the weekend before the holiday.”
Cooper, who started cooking at T&C Market-now under new management as the Castine Market-making breakfast sandwiches when she was in high school, has been in the food business off and on ever since. Over the past 25 years, Cooper has worked in restaurants in Blue Hill, Bangor, and Castine.
