KFCC signals readiness for talks with Kamal

Amid mounting tensions over Kamal Haasan’s controversial remarks on the Kannada language, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on Thursday expressed willingness to hold dialogue with the veteran actor to resolve the row and facilitate the release of his upcoming film ‘Thug Life' in the state.

The controversy erupted following Haasan’s comments at the audio launch of 'Thug Life’, where he linked the roots of Kannada to Tamil. Several Kannada groups and the KFCC demanded a public apology, sparking protests and threats of disruption to the film’s Karnataka release. The matter soon reached the courts.
