Frustrated parents call for scrapping of Gauteng online application system

THE reopening of schools got off to a bumpy start for scores of Gauteng parents, whose children are still without a school despite having applied before the deadline.
They gathered outside the Gauteng Department of Education offices yesterday to voice their growing discontent over the alarming rates of non-placement of their children in schools. They were supported by members of Operation Dudula.
They have accused the provincial education department of a sluggish response which they say could result in their children remaining out of school for the entire year.
Lindiwe Mbatha applied online in 2025, but her Grade 8 child is still without a school.
