From the moment we wake up, we're surrounded by voices — news, social media, political arguments, and increasingly, talk about war and how to prepare for it. Fear travels fast, and it shouts.

We hear Nato generals urging us to prepare for war, we see actual war in Ukraine, Russia, Palestine and Venezuela and elsewhere. We hear the false hopes of building economic growth on the back of arms sales. The clamour of war shouting for our attention.
