Tata Consumer keeps its 'antennae up' for strategic buys

Packaged consumer goods company Tata Consumer Products (TCPL) on Wednesday said it remains committed to strategic acquisitions to complement its focus on organic growth, as it navigates evolving consumer demands for healthy and convenient options.

"You have your antennae up. If there's something sensible at the right price, and it fits in well with our portfolio, we will do that. But rest assured, we have a sizeable amount of gunpowder with us, therefore growing organically will be the first focus, and inorganic growth will be more bolt on," P B Balaji, non-executive, non-independent director at the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) unit of the Tata group, told shareholders at the company's annual general meeting (AGM).
