When Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' latest acquisition is an $80 million Gulfstream G700, it is sure to evoke interest.

This new plane from the Gulfstream stable gives an unparalleled travel experience. Michael Swift, Gulfstream's Group Vice-president, Sales, for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, tells Shobha John that the G700's large cabin size and ultra-long range capabilities are crowd pullers and that India is growing into a major market for his company.

What sets the Gulfstream G700 apart from the other Gulfstreams?

The all-new Gulfstream G700 features the industry's most spacious cabin, ultra-long range and the most advanced technology, all optimized to deliver an unparalleled travel experience.

The G700 harnesses Gulfstream-developed technology, including the award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck and other new safety advancements. Along with active-control sidesticks and the industry's most extensive use of touchscreen technology, the flight deck features Gulfstream's Combined Vision System - Enhanced Flight Vision and Synthetic Vision Systems - overlaid on dual head-up displays.

The largest aircraft in the Gulfstream family, the G700 offers an outstanding range of 14,353 km at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85. All-new, high-thrust Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines power the G700 and, along with newly designed winglets, they ensure the aircraft achieves high-performance capabilities.

The Gulfstreams are known for spacious cabins. Could you describe the G700 cabins and the additional amenities in it as compared to the G650?

The G700 features options for the industry's only ultra-galley, with more than 10ft of counter space; a dedicated crew space; an entertainment and presentation area; a six-place conference and dining area and a state room with a fixed bed and full length wardrobe.
