We weren't box clever enough in loss to Hull - Forsyth
Burton Mail
|February 27, 2026
RAMS defender Craig Forsyth has admitted all four goals Derby County conceded against Hull City on Tuesday night were avoidable, after John Eustace's side lost ground in the Championship playoff race.
The veteran defender got on the scoresheet himself when he cancelled out an early own goal from Callum Elder to draw the sides level in the 17th minute, before the hosts’ lead was restored by Ollie McBurnie.
Sammie Szmodics netted a second equaliser before the break, in an entertaining first half, but it was the Tigers who prevailed 4-2, with late goals from John Egan and on-loan Liverpool forward Lewis Koumas.
It condemned Rams to a second defeat on the trot, leaving 37-year-old Forsyth rueing the key details of 18-yard-box action.
