'The Fellsman was definitely going to push me way outside of my comfort zone'

RUNNER COMPLETES 61-MILE ULTRA MARATHON TO RAISE FUNDS FOR BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH

A RUNNER from Denstone has completed an ultra marathon in support of those affected by brain cancer.

Andrew Barker, 46, ran a gruelling 61-mile Fell running challenge, called The Fellsman, in the Yorkshire Dales.

With more than 11,000 feet of elevation and unpredictable moorland conditions, Andrew set off on his challenge on Saturday, April 26, and completed the course in just 14 hours and 26 minutes, starting in Ingleton and finishing in Threshfield.

In January 2025, Dalcour Maclaren, a land and environmental consultancy to the infrastructure sector, whose head office is in Oxfordshire, made Brain Tumour Research its Charity of the Year, pledging its support to fundraise and raise awareness of the disease.

Andrew has so far raised almost £2,600 for Brain Tumour Research.
