BLAZING hot sun brought the crowds flocking to Rolleston Carnival in July 1984.

- By STEPHEN SINFIELD

Scorching sunshine was a big draw for village carnival

The afternoon began with a procession through the village of floats and youngsters in fancy dress.

They were led by Donisthorpe Scout Band and included in the line was the 'Rolleston Centipede' -50 Cubs and Scouts in insect-like guise.

Youngsters from Rolleston Playgroup stole many hearts with their rendition of Sing a Song of Sixpence.
