Post Office scandal's victims still waiting for justice to be delivered
Burton Mail
|July 12, 2025
SCANDAL comes in many forms. There's the good old-fashioned much-wants-more type of scandal; the one with naked greed at its heart.
Then there's scandal around sexual impropriety or abuse of power where folk with a lot prey on folk who have less. Prejudice or unethical behaviour or breaches of trust.
Here in Britain we seem to do scandals especially well. But my goodness, with the Post Office debacle we've surpassed ourselves.
And at the heart of this one isn’t cash or avarice or sex. It’s people.
The people who shamefully did nothing when they saw injustice, and the people who suffered as a result.
The ongoing public inquiry into the IT Horizon scandal is investigating what looks to be one of the country’s very worst miscarriages of justice.
