WITH plenty of beer bought to drink at home over the Christmas period, Burton's Ind Coope Brewery made sure it was ahead of the game.
The brewery which was the biggest in the UK - installed a new £750,000 canning machine in December 1989.
The machine was specifically designed to cater for canned beers to be sold at supermarkets and cash and carry outlets.
