Lease renewed on temporary homes

COUNCIL chiefs have renewed the lease of the current stock of houses for temporary accommodation.

Lease renewed on temporary homes

The new lease will now run until the end of March 2028 for nine self-contained properties for families that are homeless in East Staffordshire.

This is due to the statutory obligation not to keep families in bed and breakfasts for longer than six weeks at a time.

As the borough council does not have any housing stock, this requires a lease agreement. The agreement between the authority and Trent & Dove has therefore been extended.
