WEPL Soban's six-wicket haul helps Bristol Pakistanis secure first win

SOBAN Irfan finished with terrific figures of 6-39 from 8.4 overs as promoted Bristol Pakistanis recorded their first win of the campaign, seeing off fellow strugglers Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury by 66 runs in WEPL Bristol & North Somerset.

Shayan Irfan top-scored on 46 before being caught and bowled by Hashir Farouk (4-36 from 10 overs) as Bristol Pakistanis totalled 222.

It proved to be plenty as Bradley Stoke came up short, despite 60 from Touseef Ahmad.

Twyford House remain top of the table despite a 142-run reverse away to Knowle, for whom Mark Coombes and skipper Oli Haynes shared a second-wicket partnership of 199.

Veteran Coombes hit 124 off 140 balls (12 fours, three sixes), while Haynes was dismissed for 87 in an imposing challenge of 286-6. Nick Chantler claimed 4-60.

Sam Bendall’s burst of 4-35 from 10 overs then put Knowle in the driving seat as Twyford folded to 144 all out.
