Veteran can roll back the years at Nottingham

FRESH from July Cup glory at Newmarket on Saturday, Neil Callan can stay among the winners at Nottingham with the veteran Abate.
Now nine, Abate won 10 times for Adrian Nicholls but will be having just his second start for Epsom-based trainer George Baker.
His first outing for Baker saw him finish second at Lingfield to Diomed Duke under Callan, so the partnership will know a bit more about each other now.
Having been rated in the mid-80s for the majority of his career, understandably his mark has slipped a little now but that means off 72 he looks dangerously well handicapped.
With only five rivals to worry about Abate can land his first victory since September 2023.
