BRISTOL Bears star Ellis Genge has been linked with interest from France and Japan in his signature post-2027 Rugby World Cup, but his immediate future is very much in Bristol.

- John EVELY

Genge, pictured, who is still under contract with the Bears for the 2026-27 season and focused on winning a first piece of silverware with his hometown club, may have a decision on his future to make after the World Cup in Australia, with big-money deals from the cash-rich Japan Rugby League One and French Top 14 set to be tabled, according to RugbyPass.

Genge, who captained Leicester Tigers to the Gallagher Prem title in 2021-22 before returning to Bristol in 2022-23, is one of the best loose-head props in the world, and despite the Bears finishing sixth in the table, the 31-year-old was named in the Prem team of the season in the number one jersey.
