Rogers hoping for local tie in FA Cup first-round draw

WESTON-SUPER-MARE will be in tonight's FA Cup first-round draw for the second successive season after the National League South high-flyers edged out Needham Market 1-0 at the Optima Stadium in the fourth qualifying round.

The Seagulls gave Bristol Rovers a tough test before going down 3-1 at the Memorial Stadium in the first round last season, and manager Scott Rogers is hoping for another local tie in tonight's draw.
When asked what draw he would like by the club media in the aftermath of Saturday's win, Rogers said: “Just one not too far away, so our supporters don't have to travel hours on end.
“Anyone at home would be brilliant, and if we are away, Newport, Bristol Rovers, Exeter City, someone like that would be fantastic.”
Weston largely controlled Saturday's game against their Suffolk opponents, who play in Southern League Premier Division Central.
