Non-League Mullings calls on Yate to build on good display against leaders

Action from the Jewson League Les Phillips Cup tie between Paulton Rovers (maroon) and Warminster Town at Winterfield Road on tuesday night, which Paulton won 3-0

(Jenny Short)

Yate pushed Walton & Hersham all the way before going down 2-1 at Lodge Road, and now come up against a Tiverton side three points and one place below them in the relegation places.

Mullings told the club's media: “I’m never happy when we don’t win a game of football, but we can take real pride out of that performance.

“We created a number of opportunities that we thought we should do better at.

“We've had a decent run at Lodge Road, and, okay, we lost today, but if you are going to lose, make sure it is in the right manner. We were unlucky not to get anything out of that game.

“If we perform like that in the coming weeks, I think we will be okay. We need to use the positives to build on”
