Hockey Clifton continue good form with win against Barnes

IN the National League Premier Division, Clifton Robinsons' good run continued. In their last match before the break, the team produced a dynamic, attacking performance in a 5-3 victory at Barnes.

- David PARRY-JONES

This followed the 3-1 home victory against University of Nottingham the previous week. Evie Grindal (2), Steph Botha, Darcy Shields and Verity Clark were the scorers.

Carys Davies was player of the match for a tireless work-rate in both midfield and up front, providing creativity and energy throughout.

Clifton Robinsons' Jade Vardon-Cardy stated it was a well-earned win with plenty to build on for the important matches in the new year.

Goalscorer Grindal has been included in the England Under-21 squad travelling to Santiago, Chile, for the Junior World Cup next week.

A new round of fixtures in Phase Two will begin in February with Clifton Robinsons in the Lower Six for teams in the bottom six in the table.
