Health minister visits GP surgery using Al for notes

GENERATIVE Al has taken over from GPs to write patients' notes at one health centre in Weston-super-Mare.

When patients at St Georges Surgery in Worle get an appointment with their doctor, instead of the GP typing up notes, an “Al scribe" does it instead.
When patients consent, GPs are using a form of Al called “ambient voice technology” to record and summarise their conversations. It is intended to allow a more face-to-face conversation between patients and their doctor.
